Taking Care of Our Own

About the Foundation

The Mariner Sands Foundation was established by residents of Mariner Sands to provide community and financial help to employees of Mariner Sands and their families. Through interest-free loans and grants, we address needs such as medical and dental care, shelter and transportation, and education. Our mission is to support the dedicated employees who contribute so much to our community. To date, we are proud that since our inception, the Foundation has provided more than $1.3 million in aid to employees.

Leadership Support

I have been honored to serve the Foundation for over 15 years. We live in a special, caring community. Every day our living experience here is enhanced by our employees. Our mission is to help them in their times of need. We call it “taking care of our own.” Our vital work is made possible by our community volunteers. They are the keystone of our mission and I thank them for their dedicated work.

The Foundation stands as a pillar of support, significantly enhancing the well-being of our employees. By providing vital resources and fostering a culture of care, it not only enriches their professional and personal lives but also inspires deep gratitude and loyalty. Our employees consistently express their appreciation for the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to their success and happiness.

Rick Orsi, General Manager/COO/Mariner Sands

The Foundation, through its good work, embodies the spirit of Mariner Sands’ members. Our reputation as a caring, compassionate and inclusive community is borne out by the generous aid they have extended to employees in time of need for more than 20 years. I’m proud of the work the Foundation does and how it reflects on the good people of the Mariner Sands Country Club.

Expressions of Gratitude

Savannah and Alan Thompson

Savannah Thompson, daughter of Alan Thompson, member of our golf staff, is one of those we’re assisting. She’s attending Florida Atlantic University, has a 3.5 GPA, and is closing in on graduation. She wrote to us recently expressing her gratitude. We wanted to share it with you.

“I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your continued financial support. Without it, I would not have had the opportunity to earn my education at a university with amazing professors and mentors. I also joined life-changing organizations including Delight Ministries, fraternity, and lacrosse. In making these connections, I found a relationship with God and amazing friends who encourage me to be the best version of myself.

All thanks to the Foundation’s dedication to giving back. It is incredible what you do!”

Moise Guillaume

Moise Guillaume is a face we all know. He runs “Tony’s House.” Moise has been an employee of Mariner Sands since 2024. He had previously worked with Brian Falasco, our food and beverage manager, who brought Moise to Mariner Sands.

Sadly, August 30, 2025, Moise’s 36-year-old son suffered a heart attack and died. Moise was at work when he learned of this tragedy. Needless to say Moise was devastated, overwhelmed and heartbroken.

Lora Hoffman, HR Director, comforted him throughout the day. While doing so, she mentioned the Foundation and assistance they might offer with the upcoming considerable expenses he would have to face.

“Dr. John (Lynch) was incredible. I was confused and overwhelmed with grief. He checked in on me everyday. He’s a wonderful man who represents a great cause. He was quick to step in to provide financial assistance and emotional support that got me through a difficult, dark time,” said Moise.

“When I look back, many members of Mariner Sands expressed condolences, provided assistance and much needed encouragement. I’m a lucky man to be part of such a caring community.”
